OYP Theatre School Summer Camps 2014
OYP Theatre School teaches theatre by doing theatre. All camps end with a performance onstage with lights, costumes, sound and a great deal of fun! Monday through Thursday students will work and PLAY in the OYPTS Studio learning about drama and theatre as they prepare for their performance. All camp performances take place in the Shenkman Arts Centre Richcraft Theatre on Friday at 3:00. Bring all your friends and relations!
To help us cover costs, HIGH FIVES! for Theatre! -a donation of $5 is suggested. We also ask for a non-perishable food item donation for the Orleans-Cumberland Resource Centre. Before and After Care Services available.
AGES 6-8
Let's Play (ages 6-8):

Students will enjoy and experience theatre through imaginative play, simple characterization, mime and story-telling that will end with their own PLAY!
AGES 8-11
Jr. Showtime (ages 8-11):

This camp explores movement, voice, characterization and script work and will end with a performance for all to enjoy!
Jr. Shakespeare (ages 8-11):
July 7-11, 2014: $255
Find out all about the world of Shakespeare while PLAYing with his characters and scenes!
Jr. Musical (ages 8-11):
July 28-August 1, 2014: $255
Explore the world of acting and singing! Enthusiasm, commitment and team-spirit are necessary to participate in this class.
Jr. Stage & Music (ages 8-11):
August 11-15, 2014: $255
Learn more about acting while singing and dancing and putting together a play with some songs and dances in it.
AGES 12+
Teens ACT On Stage! (ages 12+): July 7-11, 2014 / August 18-22, 2014: $255
Explore many aspects of theatre: including more advanced study of movement, voice, blocking, script work and other stage business, and designing costumes, set and props.
Teens ACT Shakespeare (ages 12+): July 14-18, 2014: $255
Together with their instructor, students will explore the world of Shakespeare including costumes, speech and mannerisms. Make no mistake: Shakespeare is LOADS of FUN!
Teens On-Camera FILM! (ages 11+): July 21-25, 2014: $255
An exploration of acting for film vs. acting for the stage . Students will learn and practice the basics of filmmaking and acting. Students together with their teacher will create their own film short and present it along with their on-stage work.
TEENS Musical 2 Week Camp (ages 12+): July 21- August 1, 2014: $510
Explore the world of acting and singing! This two week workshop involves voice work and choreography as well as character and scene development. Enthusiasm, commitment and team-spirit are necessary to participate in this class.
IMPROV! (ages 12+): August 5-8, 2014: $200
Taught by Ottawa’s own very talented AL Connors!
Improvisation is fun, and vital to theatre study. Improv work is interactive (audience participatory) and improvisational theatre skills will be used in creating a show that will use the audience in the final presentation.
